Why is there a difference between ad opportunities & ad requests in a source report & a campaign report?
Ad requests on the Channel or Source level will never match ad requests on the Campaign level.
Each time our unit is loaded we are doing the 'waterfalling'. The ad request that goes from one source can reach several campaigns and requests will be multiplied. When our unit is loaded, we are sending an ad request to the first campaign. If it responds with an error, SSP platform will fail over to another campaign that means a second ad call will be sent within one session. The campaign slice shows how many times we have requested demand partners behind the connection.
By using reports by Sources, it is possible to track the number of ad requests that we receive and the number of times our VPAID unit was loaded. By generating statistics on the Campaign level, we can see ad requests that were sent by our ad server to the demand partners in the connection and the number of times they responded with VPAID unit.
